Manchester United finally reach agreement to sign perfect Bruno Fernandes competition
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is well poised to receive his first summer signing.
Manchester United have reached an agreement with AFC Ajax to sign midfielder Donny Van de Beek in the ensuing days, as per widely-emerging reports. It is understood that the deal is worth around €40m and the Reds have also agreed personal terms with the player.
Donny Van de Beek has established himself as one of the most in-demand midfield prospects in Europe, having played a vital role in Ajax’s magnificent Champions League campaign last year which ended in semi-final loss against Tottenham Hotspur. The Holland international has since attracted interest from Barcelona, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and Manchester United.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been a long-term admirer of Van de Beek, citing the technical virtues and versatility of the attacking midfielder. Given the extremely affordable £40m price-tag, Manchester United accelerated talks with Ajax to sign the Dutchman ahead of the host potential suitors.

It is learnt that Manchester United had expedited their dialogues with Ajax over the possible signing of Donny Van de Beek. Having laid the foundation months ago, the deal was concluded in a trice for an initial €40m including potential performance-related add-ons, as per the doyen of transfers, Fabrizio Romano.
Regardless of luring Donny Van de Beek, Manchester United are understood to continuing their dialogues for Jack Grealish with Aston Villa. Thus far, the Lions have not budged from their £80m valuation but there is a room for negotiation with Red Devils seeking a part-exchange deal.
Jadon Sancho, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s transfer priority this summer, is still hoping for a move to Old Trafford after talks between Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund hitting a stalemate over the latter’s €120million price-tag for the English prodigy.
"“It’s just a question of money, if they pay €120million I think it’s a crazy amount of money during this time.”“I know Ed Woodward gets plenty of pressure from the fans, perhaps he has to pay it.”“For Dortmund there is no need to sell him now, they get the price next year also.” (Christian Falk)"
In addition to Sancho, ESPN also suggest that Man United are trying to sign Dayot Upamecano from RB Leipzig, despite the French defender signing a contract extension a few weeks ago. Solskjaer wants an intimidating centre-half to partner skipper Harry Maguire next season.
For the current transfer market, Manchester United are still targeting right-sided forward, striker, and central defender.
