Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could attain one of the best young defenders in Europe.

Manchester United have reportedly expressed their interest in Real Madrid left-back Sergio Reguilon. The Spanish defender spent the last season at Sevilla, playing a vital role in Reds’ defeat against Los Palanganas in Europa League semi-final.

Sergio Reguilon has started his career through Real Madrid’s youth setup and made it into the senior squad in 2018, after two seasons away on loan at UD Logrones. After his first season with the first-team, manager Zinedine Zidane sent the Spaniard out on another temporary spell at Sevilla.

During his term with the Andalusian club, Reguilon made rapid progress under the stewardship of Julen Lopetegui, who entrusted the 23-year-old during his managerial spell with Los Blancos. Now with Zidane preferring Ferland Mendy, Madrid bosses are keen to sell one of their brightest assets.

Citing an opportunity, Manchester United have made necessary contacts to express their interest in securing the services of Sergio Reguilon, as per MARCA. Real Madrid are willing to hear offers for the Spaniard who has earned a maiden call-up to the national team.

After a promising season where United finished third in the Premier League, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to add quality depth to his squad. Sergio Reguilon provides that as Luke Shaw is yet to convince of his long-term reliability, having suffered from a string of long-term injuries.

Brandon Williams, who was promoted from the reserves squad during the season’s course, has a long way to go before establishing himself as a frequent starter for Manchester United. Diogo Dalot, who could deputise at left-back, faces an uncertain at the club.

Previous to Man United’s interest, Chelsea laid the significant groundwork to sign Sergio Reguilon as the deal for Ben Chilwell stalled for a while. But with Frank Lampard attaining the former Leicester City defender, Solskjaer has a free run at the player, at least in the Premier League.

Outside England, Inter Milan and Juventus are monitoring the situation revolving around Sergio Reguilon. Real Madrid, desperate to trim their bloated first-team squad, are willing to let go of the full-back for a fee of around €25million.

Man United, however, are fully committed to signing Jadon Sancho this summer and are continuing necessary dialogues with Aston Villa for Jack Grealish.
