He is the best player in the world. When he bursts through thickets of defenders, fans around the globe stand up in awe. He’s made people laugh, scream with joy or agony. He’s a master. His name will be indelible when you talk about football in the future. In the past he’s tormented Manchester United fans too one Champions League final after another. Lionel Messi is the ultimate superstar. And it seems like after a lifetime at Barcelona, the Catalans’ captain could finally be on the move.
Yes as shocking as it may seem, numerous reports have claimed that Lionel Messi is looking for a move away. There’s been murmurs before about a potential departure but this time it feels real, almost tangible.
Messi has enjoyed a customary excellent season personally but Barcelona have not. The Catalans lack structure right now and the rebuilding project seems enormous. It’s time for the Nou Camp to say their farewells to their old legends and start anew4.

He’s been linked with a move to Inter Milan and Juventus but why not Man United?
United have been linked with the likes of Sancho, and it’s clear they are searching for a world-class attacker. Lionel Messi would be the dream signing. Especially if Barcelona are willing to part ways with their star on the cheap like Real Madrid did when they allowed Ronaldo to leave for Juventus.
Messi wearing the United shirt would be the dream. Would it make sense for the Red Devils? probably not? Is it possible and within their financial means? Yes. Will it happen? Probably not. But you just never know in football.
