Manchester United have agreed to this move.

For football clubs the transfer window offers endless possibilities. It can transform a team’s fortune for the better or worse. Lately, for Manchester United it has often been the case of the latter rather than the former.

However Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is trying to change things at Old Trafford. The Norwegian seems to have brought back the optimism which has often been devoid on the stands. And his transfer policy has been a breath of fresh air too.

Not only has Solskjaer aspired to remove the deadwood from Old Trafford, but he has also made some astute additions to the squad.

The likes of Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Bruno Fernandes have all become stalwart figures in United’s starting eleven.

United’s best managers in the past like Busby or Ferguson always had a knack for knowing when to replace players. The pair of them rarely made mistakes regarding sales and acquisitions and it seems Solskjaer is heading towards the same path.

In the case of Tahith Chong the decision to allow him to depart on loan must have been a difficult one for Solskjaer.

The Dutch international has undeniable talent. However, he clearly has no place in the club’s starting eleven.

At 20 years of age, it is evident Tahith Chong needs regular game time for his development and while with his quality he could have been a valuable squad player, Solskjaer has made the smart decision to send Chong out on loan.

According to the latest report by German outlet Bild via Sport Witness who quote Chong’s agent, United have ‘agreed’ to let Tahith Chong join Werder Bremen for the following season.

Werder Bremen are expected to lose Milos Rashica this summer and Tahith Chong could be his ideal replacement.

The German outfit will be hoping to improve on their abysmal 19/20 season which saw the club very narrowly miss out on relegation. United and Solskjaer will be hoping Tahith Chong can play a key role in turning the club’s fortunes around.

In flashes, Tahith Chong has shown his huge potential and the Dutchman has been an outstanding player for the club’s U23 side, so there is no reason why he cannot continue that similar form at Werder.

Are you happy with the loan departure of Tahith Chong?
