Manchester United’s Sancho saga continues.
The whispers and the murmurs around Old Trafford are endless. Manchester United fans and players alike are anxiously awaiting his arrival. Ed Woodward is toiling away. Sweat drooping from his forehead in the stifling summer heatwave. At times like this sleep is scarce and phone calls are perpetual.
Things move rapidly, it is hard to keep up. Twists and turns are a commonplace. The Red Devils have braced themselves for strenuous negotiations, especially in a market which is rife with financial strife. And especially when the player in question is one of the most exciting talents in world football.
Jadon Sancho seems tailor made for Man United. It is a match made in heaven. United are a club on the rise, built on youth, Sancho is one of the most exciting young talents. Solskjaer likes to play fast counter-attacking football, Sancho is lightning quick.

The explosive winger is the right fit.
Yet of course, things are never simple or straightforward in the world of sport.
Borussia Dortmund are well aware they are holding onto a prized asset. A few years prior they sold Ousmane Dembele for a steep price to Barcelona even though the French star didn’t even get anywhere close to the figures Sancho has produced in the last two seasons.
And while it seemed like the German giants were willing to succumb to Ed Woodward’s will, it seems like that could have changed.
According to Bild via Sport Witness, Dortmund are still holding out for the steep figure of €120 million and if United do not cough up that figure in the timeline they have set, they would be content with keeping Sancho and could even offer him a new contract.
That would be a huge blow for Ed Woodward and United. Jadon Sancho has been the club’s primary target and it seems like he could be slipping away from their grasp. The Red Devils are clearly badly placed with the current financial market to challenge Dortmund’s demands and if the German club does not change their stance then all prospects of securing a deal would surely cease.
The Red Devils are well place to deal with the blow. Mason Greenwood has proven a more than adequate option on the flanks for the past few months and he could be an astute alternative to Sancho.
United could also spend the money on a defender instead, which is probably a bigger priority.
Do you think missing out Jadon Sancho could be a blessing in disguise?
