Manchester United: The three players Ed Woodward will target after Sancho
By Bence Bocsak
The Manchester United chief is about to be busy.
At last, after months and months the torrential deluge of rumours may finally come to an end. Manchester United’s long coveted transfer target Jadon Sancho is edging closer and closer towards a move to Old Trafford. His transfer will be one that could have profound implications and a transformative impact on the team.
However, Sancho could just be the beginning of a fortuitous summer for the Red Devils. The current transfer window is expected to be a buyer’s market. Ed Woodward will be hoping to capitalise on that and to help bolster an already promising Man United squad.
According to a report by the Independent via the Daily Express, after wrapping up a deal for Jadon Sancho the club’s chief will target three other areas of the pitch.

The top two priorities according to the Independent will be a striker and a midfielder for Ed Woodward.
Jack Grealish seems like the most likely candidate to fulfil the midfield role. But there have been some scepticism about whether United can secure his signature as Aston Villa and the Red Devils are quite far apart in their valuation of the midfielder. Another option who has been linked with the club is Donny van de Beek. Meanwhile talented midfielders with potential like Dominik Szoboszlai are also available on the market and might be more value for money.
The striker option is a bit more complicated as there does not seem to be a clear frontrunner. Stars like Harry Kane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have been previously linked with a move but United could struggle to lure them away from rival clubs. A more suitable option could be Ciro Immobile or Andrea Belotti. Odsonne Edouard of Celtic has also been linked with a move and he could be an exciting addition.
The Independent then claims that if United still have money left, Ed Woodward will approach a centre-back.
The Red Devils are currently heavily linked with Gabriel Malgaheas who could be an exciting addition and it is expected they will go for someone of the Brazilian’s ilk with the same sort of profile.
Names such as Marash Kumbulla and Nikola Milenkovic have also been identified as targets.
If Ed Woodward does indeed pull off three more additions after securing Jadon Sancho, United fans should expect a thrilling season.
With the added ammunition the United squad will no doubt have the firepower to compete right at the pinnacle of the Premier League and European football.
