Manchester United identify new exciting forward to sign this summer
By Bence Bocsak
Manchester United have a new target.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is just one of the myriad of Manchester United forwards who has taken Old Trafford by storm. From the age of Denis Law and George Best, the illustrious list of strikers to have donned the Red Devils shirt and had their name announced tinnily on the speaker at Old Trafford is a long one.
It has always been the mantra at United that the defence is the most integral part of success with Sir Alex Ferguson’s famous quote about ‘attacking’ winning games and ‘defence’ winning titles. However the paradox behind Ferguson’s quote is that without winning games, titles cannot be won.
And so rather to the contrary of his words, the Scotsman always strived to keep ample elite options to deploy in attack in his United squads over the years.

During the club’s best seasons, Ferguson had at least three or four quality options to play upfront.
Solskjaer was never the epitome of United’s attack. The Norwegian was content to play second fiddle and in that role he was possibly one of the best ever. Solskjaer had a knack for scoring in the dying seconds of the game which has been hard to replicate. Another United figure, Javier Hernandez, is possibly the only one who ever came close.
In his own squad, having now been appointed as the coach of the club, Solskjaer will undoubtedly strive to have similar attacking options.
The focal point of the Norwegian’s front three seems to have been firmly established with the emergence of Rashford, Martial and Greenwood. However it is clear the Norwegian needs another reinforcement to further bolster his option.
And what better than someone who has consistently proven to be a prolific finisher?
According to Italian outlet TuttoSport via the Daily Mail, the Red Devils are ‘monitoring’ Torino forward Andrea Belotti.
The 26 year old has been a consistent performer since arriving at Torino and has a knack for scoring goals having found the back of the net 92 times in 187 games.
Andrea Belotti is one of those forwards who has everything. He is agile and quick, but is also commanding in the air which makes him a defenders nightmare.
He would not be an upgrade on Martial but rather another option to supplement the forward line. This is the kind of move which could define the Red Devils’ season.
Do you think Andrea Belotti would be a good signing?
