Aaron Wan-Bissaka has enjoyed a fantastic debut season for Reds.
It was the summer of 2018, when Jose Mourinho, then manager of Manchester United, turned into a rebel. The only place where the Portuguese boss looked jovial was at the official unveiling of his compatriot and upcoming talent Diogo Dalot.
Considered a major coup, United beat several European top-dogs, convincing Dalot into choosing the red side of Manchester as his next destination. The hype was real, as the Porto academy graduate displayed a sight of an expert full-back, who could defend and provide an outlet from the wide areas.
The fans thought the days of makeshift defenders in Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young to be over. But, destiny had different plans. Arriving at the Carrington training complex on crutches, Diogo Dalot was nursing a knee surgery and had to go an intense rehab to make himself fit.

Finally, after a wait of few long months, Dalot was handed his debut in the Champions League against Young Boys. Constant thrusts down the right-wing and whipping in wicked deliveries to the strikers, United had, indeed, unearthed a raw diamond.
But, it did not pan out as promised, with former Porto starlet struggling to put behind his injury issues and acclimatise to intense physical demands of the Premier League. Change of management during the seasons did not help either.
Yet, fully determined to make the spot his own, Diogo Dalot tried hard to convince Ole Gunnar Solskjaer of his abilities. The 21-year-old, ultimately, enjoyed a run of fixtures which included a famous penalty won at Parc des Princes. Unfortunately, it was not enough as injury issues started to trouble United’s number 20 again.
Wan-Bissaka, who has established himself as one of the best defenders in the league has not even provided a sniff for Dalot to stake his claim at right-back. Despite this, Solskjaer considered the versatile defender a vital part of his plans.
But, now with Ethan Laird, Brandon Williams, Luke Shaw, and Timothy Fosu-Mensah ahead of Dalot in the pecking order, it might be a matter of time before United start listening offers for one of the exciting prospects of Europe.
A few months ago, Barcelona were said to be interested in the prodigy, citing their previous scouting reports providing positive feedback on Diogo Dalot.
Paris Saint-Germain, since the departure of Thomas Meunier, are eyeing a right-sided full-back, too. As per O Jogo via Sport Witness, the French club are interested in making their move and United have quoted a price of €35m on the player.
In addition, The Athletic have suggested that to pare the losses incurred due to the lack of matchday revenue, Manchester United are planning to reduce their net spend in the summer, hinting towards an array of departures from the club during the transfer market.
Diogo Dalot, being on the most prized assets of the squad, could fetch handsome money for the club. Recently, another Ligue 1 club, Marseille, have made their intentions known. as they consider the Portuguese to be an instant fit to their squad, according to L’Equipe via Sport Witness.
There are rumours of a loan deal, however, Man United are looking to entertain only permanent offers for the player as it promises a larger fund amid anticipation of a significant investment being made in the summer.
