Manchester United are keen to reinforce the attacking department this summer.

Jadon Sancho and Manchester United- this phrase is ubiquitous to such a magnitude that a person even remotely connected to the Stretford club would murmur it together. Finally, with Solskjaer’s side heading towards the conclusion of their league campaign, there seems a possibility that this saga could result in something significant.

Previously in our report, we mentioned how the prices could be talked about when Manchester United and Dortmund initiate dialogues over the transfer of Jadon Sancho. Developments suggested that Red Devils could match the asking price, depending on various factors.

Champions League football is an essential point for Man United, as it would be easier to convince Sancho to leave the Bundesliga in favour of Old Trafford. Though, elite competition is not the only decisive element, despite its financial significance.

From Dortmund’s perspective, as per German media, United would be able to bid in excess of 100m should they qualify for next season’s UCL, citing Adidas’ sponsorship bonus of £25m.

Observing through United’s prism, irrespective of the level of European tournament- Champions League or Europa League, club hierarchy will compile a financial package which they measure to be optimum in the current economic climate. As per Paul Hirst, it could range between £50m-100m.

In another report via Simon Stone, Man United are willing to reduce the upfront fee by including various performance-related add-ons- the proposal rejected by Die Borussen. Ed Woodward is planning to keep his spending on a low to reduce the impact of losses incurred via lack of matchday revenue.

There is also a sense of delay persisting around the Old Trafford club, to allow them time to assess the market and use their finances prudently in a murky economic climate. Regarding this situation, the Bundesliga outfit is relatively calm given Sancho’s current contract not expiring before 24 months.

Personal terms are not considered to be an issue as the English club already has had encouraging dialogues with the entourage of Jadon Sanho- earning £190,000 on a weekly basis.

Crucially, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to take his rebuild project forward, which started last summer, a step further in this transfer market. So, whatever might be the outcome, it’s almost certain that Jadon Sancho’s future would be decided in the coming months.
