Former boss to sign Manchester United target labelled the ‘next Neymar’
By Bence Bocsak
Manchester United could miss out on this Brazilian.
In Brazil, football is worshipped like a religion. On the beaches, young and old of every gender participate in the sport. Often you are born with a ball at your feet. The country has exported some of the greatest players of European football since the inception of the sport. Yet for some bizarre reason, despite the plethora of Brazilian stars to have shone in the English game, none have made their mark at Manchester United.
Old Trafford has seen a few Brazilians don the Red Devils jersey. The likes of Kleberson, Anderson and current star Fred will be familiar to most supporters of the club. However one has to admit, the aforementioned players pail in comparison to the riches of stars who have played for Brazil.
The latest phenomenon in Brazil’s national team is Neymar. The Paris Saint Germain forward’s time to have signed for Man United has undoubtedly passed. The Red Devils were linked with moves for him whilst he was a teenager at Santos and prior to his departure from Barcelona. Nonetheless, a transfer never materialised.

Undoubtedly United’s next best hope would be to sign a star of similar ilk to Neymar.
Matheus Pereira is not a name that is renowned in world-football. The 24 year old has had a meandering career in European football so far. He has jaunted from Sporting to Chaves and FC Nurnberg before finding his new home at West Bromwich Albion.
In England, Matheus Pereira has thrived. His tantalising runs and clever tricks have drawn him comparisons to Neymar himself and he could soon be on the brink of a call-up to Brazil’s senior squad.
This season the Brazilian has found the back of the net 8 times and given out 20 assists in 41 games in the Championship.
His pace and ability to beat his man one on one has attracted the interest of Man United. However it seems like the Red Devils will miss out on Matheus Pereira.
Sports Mole via CaughtOffside has claimed that Former United boss, David Moyes, who is now at West Ham is looking to sign the Brazilian instead and is hoping to beat Man United to Matheus Pereira’s signature.
Do you think United will rue missing out on Matheus Pereira?
