Manchester United enter the race for surprise AC Milan target
By Bence Bocsak
Manchester United could have a surprise midfield target.
Over the last decade Manchester United have rarely pounced on bargain transfers. Ed Woodward has not exactly been a nifty man when it comes to the transfer market. If anything the Red Devils chief has often been accused of the exact opposite.
Woodward has offered some steep fees and wages to players who ultimately did not warrant the hefty price tag and as a result succumbed under the immense pressure.
The United chief will be hoping to amend his mistakes. While, Ed Woodward has made a redemption in the past few months with his astute negotiations in the deal for United’s new star Bruno Fernandes, however it will be the summer transfer window that will make or break the new verdict on the United chief.

With the suspension of football expected to impose some financial strains even on a club of United’s stature, Ed Woodward will have to spend the club’s money wisely. He will need to consider some alternative bargains alongside Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and discover some raw gems who could be honed into key players at Old Trafford.
Ireland international Jeff Hendrick has only become a free agent at the end of June, however the Burnley midfielder has already attracted some high profile interest. When Hendrick left for pastures new at the end of June, even he wouldn’t have dared to think in his wildest dreams that some of Europe’s elite clubs would be sniffing about for his signature.
The former Burnley midfielder must be pinching himself. Last week AC Milan were linked with a move for Jeff Hendrick and now this week it seems the Red Devils have also entered the race for the midfielder.
That is according to Football Insider via SempreMilan who claim United are ‘monitoring’ Jeff Hendrick’s situation and could make a move for him.
The Red Devils are not exactly in need of midfield reinforcements. Especially a more defensive style defender like Jeff Hendrick. However, with the Irish international available on a free transfer and with a plethora of Premier League experience behind him it could prove to be an astute and risk free move.
Jeff Hendrick has been in good form this season and he is someone who is renowned for his exuberant energy on the field as well as his tenacious style.
Do you think Jeff Hendrick would be a good signing for Man United?
