Marcus Rashford has scored 21 goals for Manchester United this season, thus far.

In a shocking turn of events, Manchester United forward, Marcus Rashford, has emerged a primary target for Paris Saint-Germain as manager Tomas Tuchel eyes reinforcements to his strikeforce.

After letting go Edinson Cavani on a free this summer, Les Parisiens are planning to make a few changes to refresh the squad, seeking their first Champions League title. With Mauro Icardi’s loan deal converted into a permanent signing, Tuchel is eyeing a mobile forward to complement the blistering duo of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

Marcus Rashford, who has made rapid strides this season under the tutelage of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, is considered as an able candidate to embellish Paris’ forward line by the club insiders, as per reports from The Independent.

Real Madrid’s interest in Kylian Mbappe is considered to be one of the reasons why the Ligue 1 outfit have developed an interest in Marcus Rashford. The England international’s unpredictability and work-rate make him a perfect fit for Tuchel’s dynamic system.

This season, Marcus Rashford has enjoyed a standout campaign, taking his goalscoring tally up to 21 with a decent chunk of games yet to be played. Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood, alongside England international, have formed one of the most exciting attacks in the Premier League.

However, as things stand, Paris Saint-Germain would have to come up with a substantial economic offer to convince the Old Trafford club to let go of the academy graduate.

Given Rashford’s recent social work raising his status to a national hero and an iconic figure for Manchester, there are very high chances of this deal getting scuppered even before the clubs reach the advanced stage of dialogues. Although, player’s entourage is said to weigh up offers which could provide a greater prospect of improving the standards and chance to lift trophies.

As things stand, Rashford is said to be content with the option of staying at his local club and challenge for major titles in due course under Solskjaer’s mentorship.

But, things were not as tranquil as they currently are, with Barcelona said to be interested in Rashford before settling for Antoine Griezmann. It’s understood that player’s representatives held multiple meetings with the Catalan club to gauge their offer and plan for the English striker.

It would take a massive bid, probably north of £100m, from Paris Saint-Germain bosses to even start the dialogues with Manchester United. No one is alien to the French club’s financial clout and despite a complex economic climate, spending big in the transfer market won’t be an issue for the PSG president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

Considering immense progress of Manchester United forwards this season, it’s understood that various European heavyweights are lurking around should an opportunity arise to securing their services.

Recently, Anthony Martial was linked with a move to Inter Milan with Antonio Conte eyeing an ambitious move for the player. Another Serie A side, Juventus, were said to have offered starlet Mason Greenwood with an exorbitant contract to sever his ties with the English club.
