#4 Adama Traore

A few seasons ago, Adama Traore was considered to a talent who will remain unfulfilled at the elite level. With sporadic bursts of quality at Middlesbrough, there was difficulty to tie a fixed position of the winger due to his one-dimensional game and lack of concentration.

But, Nuno Espirito Santo decided to nurture Traore’s talent and help the player in realising his immense potential. The tactical inputs combined with astute technical coaching has shown visible improvements in the 24-year-old’s wing play.

From being a one-trick pony, Traore has learned to utilise his supersonic pace and acceleration to good effect, transforming into one of the unplayable assets of the Premier League.

Monitoring the steady progress of Traore, Liverpool and Manchester City have expressed their interest in signing the winger from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

There has been no mention of Man United, yet. However, things could gather pace given Traore’s quoted price lying around £55m.

#3 Facundo Pellistri

In a bid to re-instil the culture and work-ethic prevalent under Sir Alex Ferguson, current manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is trying to operate on similar lines to his mentor in the transfer market.

Recently, Manchester United’s shift of recruitment policy towards poaching budding talents have seen them being linked with a host of emerging footballing prospects across the globe.

Among those, Penarol winger Facundo Pellistri is of interest to Solskjaer and his transfer committee as per The Athletic.

Current Penarol manager, Diego Forlan, teammates with Solskjaer at Man United, has been asked for feedback on Pellistri by the Norwegian manager. Previously, Sir Alex Ferguson, before signing a player, used his vast contact to ensure a player has the attributes to shine in front of the Old Trafford crowd.

Despite Manchester United’s genuine interest, the Uruguayan prodigy won’t be expected to become a vital part of the forward line from the start. Solskjaer, alongside Nicky Butt, must have chalked a plan to gradually introduce Pellistri to the first-team with an initial period in reserves.

Therefore, it would be interesting to see whether Solskjaer is prepared to bite the bullet and wait for Pellistri to be ready for senior football rather than splashing heavy cash on Jadon Sancho.
