Manchester United could make a compromise.
Throughout history, the winger position at Manchester United has been a hallowed spot in the squad. Often it was reserved for the best players in the team. Players who were almost seen as infallible by the club’s fanbase. These stars were able to conjure up miracles. From Denis Law, George Best to David Beckham, Ryan Giggs or Cristiano Ronaldo, the list will go on and on.
Yet in the previous decade, the hallowed position has been left to rust at Old Trafford. Vacated by Cristiano Ronaldo at the end of the 00s decade upon his departure to Real Madrid, the winger position has been left barren ever since.
A list of daring athletes have tried to fill the void with no avail. They were players with the utmost pedigrees and with renowned reputations in world-football, yet the burden of the wing at Old Trafford was simply too much for them. From Wilfried Zaha to Angel Di Maria and Alexis Sanchez.

Though no contender has ever been as exciting as Jadon Sancho. The eagle eyed fans have grown with fervent enthusiasm about the Borussia Dortmund winger’s ability to finally erase the yearning for a star to fill the void.
Jadon Sancho is one of the best players in world football at the moment. At just 20 years of age the winger finished the current season with 20 goals and 20 assists for Dortmund this season. All together in 99 games for the German outfit he has 34 goals and 43 assists which is a thoroughly impressive number.
Yet in the current climate, no matter how impressive his numbers may be, Dortmund’s hefty demands for his services might be an unfeasible option for the Red Devils. And so they have been forced to look at alternatives.
Sancho’s predecessor at Dortmund was Ousmane Dembele, the French international had been just as impressive with the black and yellows before he earned himself a prosperous move to Barcelona.
Ousmane Dembele has struggled to fit into Barcelona’s tiki-taka system, however 19 goals and 17 assists in 79 games is still not a bad return. Ousmane Dembele clearly has undeniable ability which just hasn’t been able to thrive at the Nou Camp.
He’d be available on the cheap and according to The Athletic and Mundo Deportivo via Sport Witness, the Barcelona star is an alternative option to Jadon Sancho and one the Red Devils could make a move for this summer.
Ousmane Dembele has an abundance of pace and he could be well suited to Solskajer’s explosive style of play.
Of course Ousmane Dembele is not the first Barcelona star to have been linked as a Sancho alternative. Last month Man United were also linked with a move to Ansu Fati.
Do you think Ousmane Dembele would be a good signing over Jadon Sancho?
