Manchester United could have a new arrival very soon.

From the days of Sir Matt Busby to Sir Alex Ferguson, Manchester United’s forward line has been blessed with a plethora of world-class talent. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will know first hand. The Norwegian was a renowned forward at Old Trafford and one who’s name will forever be synonymous with the club.

Solskjaer’s winning goal at the Nou Camp against Bayern Munich in the Champions League final ensured his name will be indelible to the fans for eternity. That famous goal secured an unprecedented treble for the Red Devils with the club having secured the three most coveted trophies in English football that season.

Now Solskjaer has returned to the club where he is so warmly endeared to try to rekindle the success of the past.

More from Red Devil Armada

In his endeavour to do so, a year and a half into his venture, Solskjaer has already shown vestiges that he might be the most impeccable man for the job.

Tactically astute, having deployed a swift counter attacking style and free-flowing attacking football, Solskjaer has been able to put together an impressive squad. Using both the transfer window and the club’s academy, the Norwegian has found the right personnel and seems to be well on track.

But of course, Solskjaer needs more. The Red Devils are currently in a battle for the top four, but they want to be much further next year. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer aspires to be competing for the Premier League title and the Champions League and it is where the Red Devils belong.

For that to happen, the Norwegian will need several reinforcements.

An area where United could bolster is in the striking department. While Solskjaer’s current option of Martial, Greenwood and Rashford is an impressive one. The trio all prefer to play on the flanks rather than the number nine position and therefore Solskjaer will need a more out and out forward.

Victor Osimhen has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford but in the past couple of weeks he seemed to be bound for Italy and Napoli.

Nonetheless, it seems things have changed. Football Italia via HITC Sport has reported that Victor Osimhen has rejected Napoli as he favours a move to the Premier League, more specifically Arsenal or Manchester United.

That will be music to Solskjaer’s ears. Victor Osimhen is an accomplished forward who has excelled in France this season and he could be an astute addition.
