The Manchester United boss knows what he wants.
It was an unprecedented yet welcome arrival at Old Trafford. Many batted eyes when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was announced as Manchester United’s boss, however at the same time they breathed a sigh of relief too.
The previous months prior to the Norwegian’s arrival had been an absolute nightmare. Under Jose Mourinho the Red Devils hardly resembled what the fans had been accustomed to under the glory days of the club. Mourinho’s rigid defensive system was not how a United team is ought to play.
The general consensus was that Solskjaer, who was merely announced as a temporary solution, would at least end the dire defensive football which has frustrated the Stretford End.

The Norwegian had enjoyed an impressive pedigree in his native Norway however in the Premier League Solskjaer’s only experience was a bleak spell in charge of Cardiff City.
Nobody foresaw that the Norwegian would become a cult hero at the club yet again this time as a manager. But an impressive Champions League victory helped him achieve that against Paris Saint Germain.
It was enough for the United board to secure Solskjaer on a permanent basis.
Now he’s on course to finally help United return to the Champions League and has reignited the passions of old at Old Trafford.
Just like his former boss, Ferguson, Solskjaer has used the club’s academy as a way to bolster the first team squad and has helped youngsters thrive in a Red Devils shirt. The likes of Mason Greenwood and Brandon Williams look like they will go on to have extremely prosperous United careers for decades to come.
Solskjaer’s new transfer policy has also paid dividends. In the summer and in January, the Norwegian has been able to bring in players with the right quality and the right style of play to establish a new free-flowing style.
Key additions such as Bruno Fernandes and Harry Maguire have been pivotal in United’s revival.
And the Norwegian looks to continue the momentum in the summer.
Speaking via Goal, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed he is looking to strengthen the Red Devils squad with ‘one or two’ additions.
This is what he said in full.
"“We can see improvements but, yes, we need to make one or two – or more – very good decisions. It’s going to be an important summer, definitely.”"
