Manchester United keen on landing Diego Forlan’s protégé
Manchester United are plotting for a surprising move this summer.
He was there on his throne, staring at the pitch with a slight ever-present grin on his face, witnessing the destruction of a relegation-threatened AFC Bournemouth side at the hands of an offensively-phenomenal Manchester United, maybe planning for his next game, or perhaps thinking what additions could make this United side even stronger.
It was a nice rainy day at ‘The Theater of Dreams’ for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his triumphant men as they found the net five times for the second time since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over in the Premier League in what was a seven-goal thriller on a grey Saturday afternoon.
Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford, and Anthony Martial worked perfectly, as the midfield trio of Nemanja Matic, Paul Pogba, and Bruno Fernandes did what they do the best.

The defence and goalkeeping were the two the concerning factors, but United wrapped the match up in a Fergie-esque style.
Well, the Devils are now looking hot favourites to finish the season amongst the top four and qualify for the next season’s UEFA Champions League via Premier League, given the fact that they have an easy ride left in the league compared to those of Chelsea and Leicester City.
While everything looks perfect on the camera, Solskjaer is secretly in touch with one of his former United teammates Diego Forlán, a former Uruguayan striker, who has 17 goals and eight assists to his name from 98 appearances for the Red Devils across all competitions.
According to The Athletic (via The Sun), Manchester United have shown a massive interest in signing Facundo Pellistri from Uruguayan side Penarol, currently managed by Diego Forlán. Not only Manchester United United, but Real Madrid and Manchester City have been ostensibly in the pursuit of the starlet.
The 18-year-old is a right-winger by trade but can take lethal shots with both feet — just like Mason Greenwood. However, there is still room for improvement, especially with his shooting accuracy, as mentioned in The Athletic. They have claimed that he is not a finished article and has a great future ahead in a big European club.
He is a pacey winger, possessing the ability to run at the defenders — much like Marcus Rashford. A fluent speaker in English, Pellistri also has a Spanish passport — that could make his journey much easier in Europe. Tough, that won’t apply if he signs for United or any other English team, owing to the recent changes in rules that are excepted to be in work from January 1, 2021.
With Pellistri’s current contract with Penarol set to run out in 2022, Forlán might be hoping to sell the star-in-the-making for a profitable amount.
And amidst the financial conundrum when all the clubs have been facing difficulties due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Uruguayan top division side would love to take all of Pellistri’s £10 million release clause.
Would you like Pellistri at Manchester United this summer?
