Barcelona star wants Manchester United move in shock decision
By Bence Bocsak
Manchester United could have a new addition from Barcelona.
For years Manchester United tracked him. They watched him like a hawk and tried to pounce on him at every opportunity. However the Red Devils’ advances were to no avail. No matter how much they wanted Antoine Griezmann to strut his stuff in a United shirt, a move for the Frenchman never materialised.
Ultimately, it was Barcelona who lured him away from the capital of Spain and brought him to Catalonia. It was a move which was meant to herald a new dawn at the Nou Camp. Antoine Griezmann was ordained with the promise to fill the void left behind by Neymar’s departure to Paris Saint Germain.
Alas, things have not turned out the way Barcelona fans had hoped. Antoine Griezmann has produced amicable performances in a Barcelona shirt, but he has failed to conjure his form from his Atletico Madrid days.

The Frenchman has not been the revelation the fans had expected and now it seems like his relationship with the club has started to deteriorate.
Griezmann has recently been rumoured to have had a row with Barcelona boss Quique Setien according to Marca via the Daily Express and now Mundo Deportivo via the Daily Express has reported that the Frenchman is open to making a move to Old Trafford this summer. That is a shock decision from Antoine Griezmann considering he moved to Barcelona less than a year ago.
Manchester United’s interest in Griezmann seems to have faded over the years therefore it would be a surprise to see the Red Devils move for the 29 year old, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer having re-shaped the club’s transfer policy.
The Norwegian has opted to prefer signing younger players with potential and he seems well stocked up in the striker department with the likes of Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford at his disposal.
It is difficult to see where Antoine Griezmann would fit into the current Man United set-up. The Red Devils have looked formidable since the return of the football and the Frenchman would only break-up the dynamic.
Barcelona would no doubt demand a hefty fee for Antoine Griezmann’s services which in the current financial market might be unfeasible for the Red Devils and not a priority.
The club should be looking at strengthening other areas of the pitch.
Do you think making a move for Antoine Griezmann would be a good one?
