Manchester United may have found the next big thing.

On the pitch, on the turf at Old Trafford their feet sparkled and their legs scuttled to conjure up a myriad of miracles. They were heroes. Players who were regarded to have ethereal ability. God-like in a way. Both Roy Keane and David Beckham were adored by the Manchester United faithful.

They were some of the biggest cult heroes in the club’s history. Their names will forever be indelible to the fans.

Their departure from Old Trafford was greeted with a tinge of sadness and disappointment. Some still yearn for players of their ilk to grace the turf.

More from Red Devil Armada

Current Man United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, was teammates with both David Beckham and Roy Keane in their prime. The Norwegian witnessed their contributions, talent and skill first hand on the pitch and on the training ground.

Solskjaer benefitted from Roy Keane’s tenacity and hustle and bustle nature, as well as David Beckham’s impeccable deliveries.

Now as the main boss himself, the Norwegian will be seeking to implement players of similar quality into his very own Man United squad and to conjure the successes of old.

And according to Nicky Butt via the Daily Express who came through the ranks at Old Trafford, Solskjaer could have found his very own David Beckham and Roy Keane. Butt compared current academy star Hannibal Mejbri to the club’s two legendary stars.

Nicky Butt said the following:

"“Leaders are always looked at like a Roy Keane, a Steve Bruce, a Bryan Robson, those kind of verbal, real aggression, real leaders,” he said.“And then you’ve got leaders like Paul Scholes or David Beckham or Ryan Giggs, who’s quiet but really leads by example of how they play and how they work hard.“We’ve got the old-fashioned leaders, if you like, who are going to talk to the players and drive the team,” he said.“Hannibal (Mejbri)’s a leader. The way he plays his football is 100mph, he’s non-stop running up and down.”"

The youngster arrived as a major prodigy from Monaco last summer. In his first season at the club he has already caught the attention of the fans and the Red Devils coaching staff with some stupendous displays.

Hannibal Mejbri is an astute player. Technically he is head and shoulders above the rest with the pace and the skillset to bamboozle his opponents.

Still just 17 years of age, he is already on the brink of first team action with many tipping him to be on the cusp of making his debut. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already shown he is confident in giving youth a chance so there is no reason, Hannibal Mejbri’s path to the first team will be thwarted.

There have been many glimpses of Hannibal Mejbri’s potential star power for the club’s U23 side this season.

Nicky Butt’s comment are bold, but Mejbri certainly has the potential to fulfil them.
