Manchester United made an offer for an exciting talent.

Brazilians at Manchester United have rarely thrived. From Kleberson to Anderson and Fred few have really blossomed into world-class talents at Old Trafford. Some of course have turned into cult heroes and are endeared by the Stretford End but their achievements on the pitch pail in comparison to the footballing riches Brazil has exported around the world since the sports inception.

Think of the plethora of exciting talent to have emerged from Brazil over the past century. The names are indelible when it comes to the history of football. There is a reason why Brazil are the record holders in the World Cup and why so many of the country’s current contingent ply their trade in Europe.

In Brazil, football is a way of life. It is culture embedded into the nation’s ethos. Often it is the only route out of a poverty stricken country.

Current Everton star, Richarlison experienced a similar plight growing up. His story to the Premier League is one of hardship and misfortune. However his hard work and struggle has paid dividends and he now enjoys a stellar career.

Regarded as one of the best Brazilian attacking talents of his generation and often the standout performer in a lacklustre Everton side, Richarlison has unsurprisingly attracted interest from some of Europe’s elite clubs looking to bolster their attacking options.

According to the forward one of those clubs was Manchester United in the January transfer window as well as Spanish giants Barcelona.

The forward speaking to Los Desimpedios via Manchester Evening News confirmed both clubs made offers to lure him away from Everton, however ultimately the approached were thwarted by Everton and Richarlison was forced to stay at Goodison Park.

The revelation will come as a surprise, but in fairness Richarlison was linked with a move to Old Trafford back in January. Whether United still hold an interest only time will tell, however one thing is for sure, Solskjaer is still looking for a striker.

Richarlison could be an astute option with the forward having an uncanny eye for goal and the pace well suited for United’s explosive counter attacking style.
