Key Manchester United target’s transfer looks imminent

This Manchester United target is on the move.

At Old Trafford there has always been a strict policy. Manchester United value their traditions and one of the longest standing traditions at the club is the promotion of youth players. The Red Devils like to buy players young and hone their skills to develop them into superstars.

This tradition has often got lost along the way since Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure. Often Ferguson’s successors have preferred spending hefty amounts on already established superstars who would subsequently flop in a Red Devils shirt.

But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has endeavoured to return these traditions back to the hallowed Old Trafford turf. Having previously worked in the club’s academy and having played over a decade at Old Trafford, the Norwegian understands the essence and the core of the club.

16 year old Jude Bellingham would be an ideal candidate. He is of the same ilk as some of Ferguson’s transfer in the past. The midfielder is tipped to have a long and successful career  ahead of him having already shown his potential at such an early age.

Jude Bellingham has been a regular for Birmingham City this season in the Championship and has enjoyed great success playing at the heart of the midfield. At such a tender age he has been able to dominate and dictate play which has understandably caught the eye of Solskjaer.

However it seems like the Norwegian will not be successful in his pursuit of the exciting midfielder.

According to a report by ESPN via the Metro, Bellingham has rejected the advances of the Red Devils despite a meeting with Sir Alex Ferguson and has chosen to sign for Borussia Dortmund instead. The report suggests that the deal is to be completed imminently with the two parties having reached an agreement.

That will be a blow to Solskjaer but Jude Bellingham was not necessarily a primary target for the club which means the Norwegian can now direct his attention elsewhere.

Jude Bellingham will undoubtedly blossom at Borussia Dortmund and he will join a club where he is bound to get more first team opportunities therefore you can hardly blame the teenager.

The Red Devils will meanwhile surely focus their attention on Dortmund’s current superstar, Jadon Sancho.
