Manchester United set to move for a strange Jadon Sancho alternative
By Bence Bocsak
Manchester United have a strange Sancho alternative.
His twinkle toes sparkle every time he takes to the field. As he runs, electricity seems to curse through his veins. His lightning pace leaves streaks behind and defenders trailing in his wake. His rapid feints and bamboozling tricks makes him the master of deceit and a Manchester United fans’ dream.
Jadon Sancho is everything the Red Devils faithful have yearned for. The Stretford End have seen enough imposters trying to fill the void left behind by Cristiano Ronaldo. They have seen deadwood sporting that famous number seven strip in vain. And they know well and truly that Jadon Sancho is the rightful heir for the Portuguese legend’s throne.
The prospect of Sancho in a United shirt is too much to fathom. It almost seems like a wild dream. And when things seem to be too good to be true, they usually are.

In the current financial climate, Jadon Sancho’s astronomical fee might just be too much for the Red Devils to pay. With the club set to incur inevitable losses and United needing to strengthen in more than just one area, perhaps the Red Devils won’t be able to justify making such a hefty move for Sancho.
And it seems the Red Devils are already preparing for the worst. According to the Daily Mail via the Metro, United are already lining up potential alternatives to Sancho. The report claims one of those alternatives is Leon Bailey.
The Bayer Leverkusen winger is a strange choice. While Leon Bailey is an explosive winger with a great burst of pace and is still relatively young at 22 years of age, the Jamaican winger has struggled with consistency over the years.
Despite hitting great heights during the 2017/18 season in his inaugural Bundesliga campaign, Leon Bailey has managed just five goals in the two Bundesliga seasons since then.
In both seasons, Leon Bailey only gave out two assists which is not a great record for an attacking winger.
Additionally, Leon Bailey has not even been a regular at Bayer Leverkusen this season, with the winger often starting on the bench.
There is certainly talent and potential within Leon Bailey but he is far from the finished product. Though in the current market, United should not expect to find polished gems.
Would Leon Bailey be a good signing for Man United and an ideal alternative to Sancho?
