Manchester United have some mouth-watering cards in their hands.

As they say, midfield is the region where the game is won or lost. Over the years, Manchester United have had heeded some of the best midfielders running down the green turf of Old Trafford, making tackles, and winning balls back to disrupt their opponents.

Some of them have had the best creative eyes, and some have had been expert with both offensive and defensive duties.

Surprisingly, some have been the reasons behind United’s struggles to don the central area of the field as they did frequently under the management of Sir Alex Ferguson.

However, under United’s current manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, some of them have come out of the shell of mediocrity and started to put up consistent performances week in, week out.

Fred, who was going through an underwhelming run of form during Jose Mourinho’s managerial days, has revived his career since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer started putting him in the United’s starting line-up regularly. And now, he is one of the most sought-after candidates for United’s Player of the 2019-20 season.

United currently have midfielders such as Scott McTominay, Fred, Nemanja Matic, Paul Pogba, and Bruno Fernandes. One can add the names of Andreas Pereira, Jesse Lingard, and Juan Mata to that list despite the fact that two of them have not done enough to impress the gaffer and the latter’s career is on a steady decline.

However, noises surrounding the Mancunian club suggest that United management feels as if they need to make one or two midfield acquisition this summer in order to dream about challenging for the Premier League title next year.

The names of Kai Havertz, Donny van de Beek, and Jack Grealish have been touted very highly in recent weeks, and it is believed that United have been monitoring their developments for some time now.

Reports from The Athletic claims that luring Jack Grealish and Kai Havertz would be the main target for United’s recruitment team this summer as it is insisted that Grealish and Kai Havertz top United’s priority-list, with Van de Beek reportedly sitting lower down the queue.

Even though each of the aforementioned names is very talented and possesses the ability to destroy any opponent single-handedly, Manchester United is believed to be going after Grealish and Havertz for their ability to play in different midfield and offensive positions.

United are certainly looking to tick all boxes with only one signing, which is why Jack Grealish and Kai Havertz are leading the race at the moment.
