Manchester United have lined-up a shock new target.
The transfer window is a bewildering time. It can throw up major shocks and surprises which reverberate around the whole footballing world. Manchester United are usually at the thick of the action. This summer will be no exception, despite the unprecedented climate created by the current crisis embroiling the world.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is trying to build a new dynasty at Old Trafford. The Norwegian having honed his footballing brains under Sir Alex Ferguson is now trying to emulate the legacy of his former coach.
Ferguson’s prowess in the transfer window was one of the Scotsman’s greatest asset. He had the ability to unearth gems and players with relatively unknown status time and time again and make them into world-beaters. The likes of Park Ji-Sung and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer himself are examples of Ferguson’s uncanny eye for talent. The pair of them were playing for relative minnows when the Scotsman brought them to Old Trafford.

Solskjaer’s transfer policy as the boss at the helm is somewhat similar. Of course the Norwegian has bought players of great status but he has also surprised the fans with some unlikely transfers. Daniel James was one of them and he seems to have become an invaluable asset to the squad.
Meanwhile Odion Ighalo has taken many by surprise with the way he has begun his Man United career.
And it seems Solskjaer is vying for another one of Ighalo’s countryman and another surprising name.
Umar Sadiq will not be a name known to many at Old Trafford. The lanky Nigerian forward however has already played for some gigantic clubs such as Roma and Rangers and he is still just 23 years of age.
Currently Sadiq is plying his trade in Serbia for Partizan Belgrade. In fact the forward played against United twice including at the hallowed Old Trafford turf earlier this season in the Europa League. While he did not net in either of the fixtures, Umar Sadiq does have an impressive goalscoring record this season. The Nigerian has found the net 17 times and has given16 assists in 38 games for Partizan Belgrade since his permanent arrival in the summer.
And according to a report by The Sun via the Daily Express, the Red Devils have identified the forward as a potential candidate to bring to Old Trafford.
Would you be happy with the arrival of Umar Sadiq?
