Manchester United could have a huge transfer budget.

Ed Woodward is probably toiling away as we speak. The Manchester United chief is about to embark on the most pivotal part of his Red Devils career so far. Woodward has faced difficult challenges and undulating paths before, but nothing comes close to the pressure he is about to come face to face with.

Woodward has been under some scrutiny at Old Trafford. The fans have often criticised the club chief for having been below par in his transfer dealings and for being unable to exert a cohesive strategy and structure at the club.

And the criticism has been warranted. Woodward had failed to land some key targets over the years and he has offered some preposterous wages to players who simply do not seem to deserve it.

But nothing will come as a greater challenge to Ed Woodward as what he is about to face. The current crisis embroiling the world has thrown up an unprecedented obstacle. Woodward will not only have to juggle the Red Devils’ funds resourcefully but he needs to ensure that the club will attract the right targets and players in the summer.

The upcoming transfer window could be the biggest on in United’s history since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson. The club’s entire future could hinge on Woodward’s success.

Nonetheless, it seems United are well equipped to deal with the challenges.

According to journalist Christian Falk speaking to utdreport via the Daily Express, the Red Devils could have a transfer budget as much as 300 million Euros ahead of the summer transfer window. That is around £269 million which is a gigantic sum considering some clubs are considering steering clear of the transfer window. Falk said the following:

"“I have heard from my sources that United’s management is ready to invest 300 million euros (£269m) to build a new team.”"

The sum will be reassuring to fans who are concerned with the lack of direction at United. That budget could certainly be enough to fund moves for Jadon Sancho of Borussia Dortmund who seems to be the number one priority at Old Trafford.

But it will also leave space for a number of other additions. The likes of Jack Grealish and Jude Bellingham have been linked with potential moves as well as Donny van de Beek.

It seems like Ed Woodward is preparing for a busy summer and the fans should expect an exciting period. Though it certainly seems rather shocking that the club have such huge amounts to spend considering the losses they could have potentially incurred. Only time will tell whether Falk’s source is right.

Regardless, if Woodward is successful, it could herald a new dynasty at Old Trafford.
