Manchester United have made contact to sign the French World Cup winner.

Sign of peace is very hard to find in today’s world, especially when you are covered with slam-bang protests and a global pandemic that has caused hundreds and thousands of lives across the globe.

And amidst these unprecedented circumstances, the only thing that can bring the slightest of the grin back on an individual’s face is the foregoing memories. Reliving past memories is one of the easiest ways to stay aside from the ongoing chaos.

And for a football fan, who barely watch league football, there are no finest memories to revisit than those of the latest FIFA World Cup. Over the years, Manchester United have witnessed several World Cup winner running down the holy turf of ‘The Theatre of Dreams’.

More from Red Devil Armada

Bobby Charlton, Nobby Stiles, John Connelly from England’s 1966 World Cup-winning side, Fabien Barthez, Laurent Blanc from French 1998 World Cup-winning side, Kleberson (Brazil, 2002), Gerard Pique (Spain, 2010), Juan Mata (Spain, 2010), Victor Valdes (Spain, 2010), Bastian Schweinsteiger (Germany, 2014), and Paul Pogba (France, 2018) have all had left their mark for the red side of Manchester.

The last name on the aforementioned list is widely regarded as a fundamental part in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s rebuild of a Manchester United side that would conquer the future. But talks surrounding Paul Pogba’s uncertain future is not going to stop, at least for the foreseeable future.

We might have to wait until the 2021 summer transfer window to see what Paul Pogba’s future unfolds as the teams, who have been linked with the French World Cup winner, don’t have that money left in their bank to pursue the deal in the upcoming summer window following the pandemic crisis.

On the other hand, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to sign a cover for Paul Pogba before it gets too late. Reports surrounding the club have confirmed that United have already opened talks for the arrival of a Pogba-esque midfielder this summer.

One of the most reliable journalists in the market, Mohamed Bouhafsi, has confirmed Manchester United’s interest in Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso, stating,” Manchester United have started discussions with the entourage of Bayern midfielder Corentin Tolisso.”

He also has made it clear that the record 28-times Bundesliga winners are ready to let one of their star men go for a mouth-watering price of around €35 million, which is really cheap compared to other targets United have been following for a while.

Tolisso was an integral member in France’s 2018 World Cup-winning side, playing five matches and earning an assist throughout a highly-successful campaign. This season, Tolisso has racked up 1 goal and 2 assist after appearing 13 times for the German giants in Bundesliga. Tough, an ill-fated ankle injury has seen him miss around 10 games this season.

Tolisso underwent ankle surgery last April. Whether that surgery has made any impact on his overall performance remains to be seen.

Tolisso is currently in his mid-twenties and two-years younger than his compatriot Paul Pogba. Should United really want to buy a back-up midfielder who would spend most of his time sitting on the substitute bench, then the Old Trafford faithful could take a look at him.
