Manchester United could steal key target from Steven Gerrard
By Bence Bocsak
Manchester United want the same target as Gerrard.
He was like a thorn. A prickly sharp stabbing pain on Manchester United’s side. It wasn’t a comfortable pain but not a particularly harmful one either. Steven Gerrard struck several blows to the Old Trafford faithful during his playing career. None were enough to threaten the Red Devils’ hegemony, but some of them were enough to cause misery to the Red Devils supporters.
Gerrard will forever be ridiculed in Manchester. He is a legend of the game however he is a legend who represented the club’s arch rivals and that sort of affiliation cannot be overlooked in football. Man United fans will always say he was overrated which is perhaps far-fetched because the former Liverpool captain had achieved a lot in the game.
Nonetheless, Gerrard is an enemy. He is a villain at Old Trafford and everyone loves to strike blows to an adversary.

And according to the Daily Record via the Daily Express, Man United could have the chance to do exactly just that even after Gerrard has retired from the game. The report claims that the Red Devils are vying for the services of Leicester City wonderkid Dennis Gyamfi but Rangers led by Steven Gerrard are also interested in the services of the of highly rated full-back , who’s contract expires this summer.
Of course, Dennis Gyamfi will not be a primary target for the Red Devils but with the youngster tipped to go far in the game it could be a risk free transfer considering he is available for free.
Man United are still lacking options at right-back and Dennis Gyamfi could fill in that role.
The only thing Gerrard has over Man United is the ability to be able to offer Gyamfi more chances of first team football. However, the lure of the Red Devils and the club’s financial might could be a far greater pull.
As much as Gerrard has caused heartbreak for Man United supporters, the club have often caused Steven Gerrard far greater misery. While the former Liverpool midfielder might have retreated to Scotland it seems Man United continue to haunt him and vice versa.
This transfer fight for Dennis Gyamfi could be one of the most exciting ones to follow in the summer transfer window.
Should Man United sign Dennis Gyamfi from Steven Gerrard’s grasp?
