This is how Sterling views a move to Manchester United.

In the shadows, he lurks. Ready to pounce at any moment. Ready to strike at the heart of Pep Guardiola. Manchester United’s, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, looks to have made himself into a nuisance since arriving at the hallowed Old Trafford ground. He has been a thorn on Manchester City’s side and could become an even bigger source of anguish for the blue side of Manchester if he can execute the latest purported move linking Raheem Sterling to the Red Devils.

The jury is still out on the Stretford End but the Norwegian has the potential to be revered. Solskjaer has embarked on a process reminiscent of the legendary names of old. The likes who are worshiped at Old Trafford. Managers whose names hold ethereal status. You know them. I don’t need to mention their names.

And if Solskjaer lures Raheem Sterling to the club, thus prizing him away from Pep Guardiola’s grasp, he could pull off the biggest coup in the history of the club, bigger than any transfer made by Sir Alex Ferguson or Sir Matt Busby.

More from Red Devil Armada

Though of course, much will hinge on Sterling himself.

The winger looks content at the Etihad, though that could change amidst the potential UEFA ban looming over Pep Guardiola’s side.

However, unfortunately, Raheem Sterling’s stance on a potential move to United is not one which will titillate the hearts of the Red Devil supporters.

According to DiarioMadrista via the Daily Express Sterling would ‘prefer’ to move to Real Madrid this summer rather than move to Old Trafford which they deem ‘impossible.’

It won’t be the news Solskjaer is seeking. The Norwegian might be forced to pull his rod back and unclip the hook if the Spanish giants hold such a lure over the Red Devils, especially with Sterling also seemingly set on a move to the Spanish capital.

However, perhaps some slim glimmer of hope remains for the Norwegian.

Speaking before last season’s FA Cup Final via the Daily Express, Sterling ‘confessed’ that when he was young he ‘was a massive United fan.’

Perhaps somewhere inside the current England international there is still a yearning for the dream to represent his boyhood club.

Only time will tell, but United’s pursuit of Sterling could be the most intriguing transfer saga yet.

Next. Red Devils could potentially have a new Owen at Old Trafford. dark
