Confirmed: Bundesliga sensation is open to Manchester United move
Manchester United have entered the race to sign this Bundesliga sensation.
If you are one them who believes that football is more than watching a game on television and spends most of the time hunting down transfer speculations on social media platforms, you might have already got to know that one of Manchester United‘s main rivals in English football, Chelsea FC, have agreed to sign one of the world’s most prominent strikers, Timo Werner.
This is not only a success story for Frank Lampard and his management but also a warning to those who have been minimising their pulling power for a while.
Amidst the current financial crisis when a club of Tottenham Hotspurs’ stature had to borrow £175 million from the Bank of England to bear their expenses, Chelsea’s decision to pay Timo Werner’s release clause of 54 million (€60m) is nothing sort of a courageous deed.

Now the pressure has come upon the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool as both clubs were in the race for the striker but pulled out of it when they considered the financial impact of the pandemic.
The fans, in both camps, are not happy with the news that Timo Werner will play for The Blues from the next season. While the story of Liverpool’s side is more pathetic, United fans are optimistic about the calmly-progressive deal of Jadon Sancho.
Man United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been in the chase of the charismatic Englishman for some time now. And it feels as if the dream of luring him to the green turf of Old Trafford is on the verge of its fulfilment.
However, reports from Germany suggest that not only Sancho but Ole Solskjaer has shown interest in Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz.
According to the reliable sports journalist Christian Falk, Manchester United are ‘looking to sign Bayer Leverkusen’s Kai Havertz’.
While Speaking about Kai Havertz, Leverkusen’s assistant coach Marcel Daum confirmed that he is not sure about the playmaker’s future at BayArena. He said:
"“The situation with coronavirus is so strange and so complicated that it’s still open that he will leave us.”“I don’t know what will happen, but at Bayer he has the right place to develop his strengths and improve. The only thing I know is that Bayer won’t sell him for a cheap fee.“Everyone is asking about Kai Havertz. If you see him play it tells you everything. For me, he has the elegance of Zidane. If you see his movement, he’s very elegant, he’s always calm, he has great passing ability.“What a lot of people don’t see, because we watch him every day, is that he’s pretty fast. That’s a big bonus.“He’s a great player; he’s scoring goals, he’s great in the air and he’s pretty fast.“It’s up to him how far he can go. I can’t say he will be the best German player ever, but he has the talent and there are no limits. He’s displaying signs of Zidane.”"
Since making his senior debut for Bayer Leverkusen in a 2–1 Bundesliga loss to Werder Bremen on 15 October 2016, the German international has racked up 143 appearances for his childhood club, having garnered 43 goals and 30 assists across all competitions.
What makes him a special asset is his ability to play in different positions. The 20-year-old can play as a centre-midfielder, as an attacking midfielder, as a right-winger or even as a centre-forward. Moreover, his eye to find accurate line-breaking passes while roaming around such attacking areas makes him the best in what he does.
In Bundesliga, he has recorded 2.1 key passes per game this season with an eye-catching passing accuracy of 86%. A player who possesses that sort of versatility can make any team better singlehandedly. And that is what Solskjaer needs at the moment on his mission to build a team for the future.
Do you think United will succeed in their hunt for Kai Havertz?
