Manchester United could sign ‘Cristiano Ronaldo style’ wonderkid
By Bence Bocsak
Manchester United’s latest target is similar to Ronaldo.
Over the years, one position has haunted Manchester United. For a decade now the Red Devils’ right winger position has remained barren. Many have tried to rejuvenate it but have failed in the process.
There seems to be an apparent curse. The likes of Alexis Sanchez and Angel Di Maria who both arrived to play on the flanks came with high pedigrees. Having impressed at the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively they were esteemed players, worthy to wear the shirt. Yet they were mere shadows of themselves, unrecognisable in Man United colours.

Cristiano Ronaldo‘s departure from Old Trafford has left an indelible mark on the club.
His presence lingers and the yearning for his return or the arrival of someone of his ilk is only growing and growing with each passing year. The fans’ impatience is understandable.
However, it may not go on for long. The Red Devils are heavily linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho.
And speaking to MUTV via the Daily Express, former Red Devils legend Wes Brown believes the 20 year old winger has similar qualities to Cristiano Ronaldo.
Wes Brown said the following:
"“We need someone (Sancho) exactly like that at the club. We’ve had them over the years and I’m sure if we were to sign him he would bring that excitement back to the club. It would be good for the team as well. We’ve had players like that in the past, like with Cristiano Ronaldo. They’re the type of player who draw three or four defenders out and make the game a lot easier for the other players.”"
The former United defender is not wrong. Jadon Sancho is a special talent and someone who has been touted around as the heir to the Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo hegemony in football.
Jadon Sancho possess a unique trait. He is able to slalom past defenders with ease. Blessed with pace, often Sancho doesn’t even need to use it. Having honed his skills in the ‘cages’ in London, the Borussia Dortmund star is able to penetrate through tight spaces and create goalscoring opportunities for himself and his teammates.
Of course with the current crisis having stagnated United’s financial income, the Red Devils might struggle to negotiate a deal for the star, but the pursuit of Jadon Sancho might be one the club will look to prioritise.
The weight of finally replacing Cristiano Ronaldo at Old Trafford will be a mighty challenge for Jadon Sancho but it is one he is well placed to accomplish. With 20 goals 20 assists in 39 matches for Dortmund, his stats are certainly impressive.
Can Jadon Sancho become the long awaited Cristiano Ronaldo replacement?
