It looks like Manchester United will sell another star to Serie A.

If you have been following Manchester United for years, you may have got a firm idea about the philosophy of the club. The Philosophy that was first implemented by the club’s legendary manager Sir Matt Busby. The philosophy that introduced the development of football at the grassroots level in English soil.

Making a team based on academy graduates was the main mantra of that philosophy. Sir Matt Busby knew that only homegrown talents would able to give him the success he was craving. And now, there would not be many who do not know about the “Busby Babes”.

Sir Busby’s departure from the red side of Manchester saw a slight declination in the club’s youth-development process. But soon it got rejuvenated with the magical touch of the club’s greatest of all time, Sir Alex Ferguson. The famous class of ’92 was the crystal-clear illustration of the progress the club’s youth academy had made over those years.

Nowadays, Manchester United are trying to regain the pinnacle of English football, grabbing the hands of club’s former striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. This time, the goal is to overcome the domination created by their arch-rivals Manchester City and Liverpool.

From what we have seen so far, Solskjaer has given chances to a plethora of academy graduates, and most of them have thrived under the Norwegian.

Besides signing some overseas players to add experience to the dressing room, the manager has made it clear that each and every homegrown talent would get enough chances to prove their traits.

However, everyone does not suit the Norweigan’s style of play. Hence, we might see departures of some homegrown talents in the upcoming summer transfer window.

According to the reports from The Independent, Jesse Lingard could be the one to leave his childhood club in the upcoming summer transfer window. The report suggests that Lingard wants to follow in the footsteps of his former teammates Chris Smalling and Ashley Young by joining them in the Italian top division.

It is believed that Lingard is in ‘constant contact’ with his former teammates and gets information about life in Italy. Although it might seem as the Englishman has made up his mind of leaving the Mancunian club recently, Lingard dropped a massive hint of his departure by teaming-up with super-agent Mino Raiola last January.

The 27-year-old Manchester United graduate has scored 2 goals and recorded 2 assists from 35 club appearances this season. Despite getting a string of chances, the attacking-midfielder has massively failed to live up to the expectations. And it looks as if a move away from Old Trafford would be the best route to escape the nightmare for Lingard.

Alexis Sanchez, Chris Smalling, Matteo Darmian, Ashely Young, and Romelu Lukaku have already moved to Italy in an attempt to revive their career. Lukaku and Smalling have already made a massive reputation on the Italian soil, and others are still trying to thrive. Jesse Lingard might be the next to try his luck in Italy as the United graduate has no future under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Which Italian side would be the perfect fit for Jesse Lingard?
