Barcelona are reportedly interested in this Manchester United fan favourite.

The summer of 2019 will go down as one of the best transfer windows in the years which have proceeded the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United. With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at the helm, the club have finally set out a clear transfer strategy and recruited a plethora of talent, including Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka who have since become the linchpin of the Red Devils.

For years the right-back position was occupied by Antonio Valencia at Old Trafford. His marauding runs down the flanks and perpetual energy was the heartbeat of the team. Valencia was the ultimate professional. However ultimately the ravages of age would catch up with the Ecuadorian. Over time, Valencia’s withering legs would no longer be able to compete with the intensity of the Premier League and it would see the club captain depart the club.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had the tough task of replacing Antonio Valencia in the first team squad. But Aaron Wan-Bissaka has not let the Norwegian down so far. The fervent right-back has managed to erase memories of Valencia and has fashioned the right back role into his own.

More from Red Devil Armada

Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s pace and tough tackling nature has endeared him to the Red Devils faithful. Fans across social media are perpetually arguing Wan-Bissaka is the best right-back in the Premier League and the best option for England. The topic is mooted but they do have a point, no one can argue with Wan-Bissaka’s defensive output and statistics, he is without a shadow of a doubt the best defensive right-backs in the league.

And it seems, Aaron Wan-Bissaka hasn’t just caught the attention of United fans, according to Don Balon via Everything Barca, Spanish giants, Barcelona are targeting the defender in an attempt to replace Nelson Semedo at the Nou Camp.

After just a year in Red Devils colours, it would be devastating for the club if Barcelona manage to lure Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Spain.

However, with more reputable sources yet to confirm the deal, hope still remains.

One thing for sure, Aaron Wan-Bissaka has enjoyed his stay in Manchester so far. Speaking to the club’s official website about settling down, he said the following:

"“I’m new to Manchester, but it’s a nice area and I’ve settled now. I’ve made sure I kept my shirt from the Chelsea game, so that’ll be getting framed and going up on the wall at home.”"

The right back is clearly proud to wear the shirt and content at United, perhaps even an offer from Barcelona might not be enough to sway him.
