Manchester United looking to beat Zinedine Zidane for key target

According to the latest reports Manchester United are in a battle with Real Madrid to sign a target where both teams lack depth.

When it comes to football teams, they don’t come greater than Real Madrid and Manchester United. The two stand at top of the pantheon of giant football powers. They are enriched with history, culture and tradition and have a worldwide fanbase in the hundreds of millions.

For a professional footballer, it is normally at the pinnacle of their ambition to represent either one of the teams.

For Lucas Ocampos that ambition would have seemed beyond him two years ago. The Argentine was tipped for stardom at a very early age. Having impressed at River Plate at only 17 and 18 years of age, he earned a lucrative move to Europe with Monaco. However with the French side Ocampos never managed to settle. He didn’t fare any better at Marseille or during his loan spells in Italy either.

Nonetheless since moving to Sevilla this season, the winger has managed to finally revive his career. Lucas Ocampos has thrived with the Seville based outfit. He has managed 12 goals and 3 assists in 29 appearances. His trickery and skill have been a revelation for a Sevilla side who look likely to return to the Champions League after a couple of years of hiatus.

And according to the Sunday Mirror via TeamTalk, Lucas Ocampos’ performances have alerted the attention of both Real Madrid and Manchester United.

With the Red Devils looking to bolster their options on the flank, Lucas Ocampos could be an ideal addition. His pace, trickery and flair has often been lacking in the current United squad. Meanwhile Lucas Ocampos’ ability to find the back of the net could also be a crucial asset.

At just 25 years of age, the Argentine could still improve too and he looks to be finally fulfilling his early potential.

However with Real Madrid and Zinedine Zidane also desperate to strengthen their options on the flanks with Gareth Bale set to depart, the Red Devils will have a tough battle on their hands.

For Lucas Ocampos, the choice will be an enticing one. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be hoping he opts for the Red Devils.
