If the reports are to be believed, Manchester United and Real Madrid’s latest target could be an ideal replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.
His throne has stood empty. The void and the abyss of his absence growing greater with each passing day. His shadow still lingers at Old Trafford and in the Bernebeau. The fans cannot help but pray for his return or for someone of the same ilk to arrive. Manchester United and Real Madrid have both struggled since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.
The two giants of world football have tried to replace the Portuguese’s presence on the field, however so far it has been to no avail.
At Old Trafford, the problem is now over a decade long. Cristiano Ronaldo’s name is still touted about and his absence can be felt on the pitch. The Red Devils’ history with wingers since Ronaldo’s departure has been abysmal.

The same can be said for Real Madrid, with Eden Hazard yet to find his feet in the Spanish capital.
Now as the two clubs look to fill that perpetually growing void, it seems they have sought out the same heir for Ronaldo’s throne and will now inevitably embark on a battle for his services.
The latest reports have claimed that Man United and Real Madrid are both looking to sign Lucas Ocampos in the upcoming transfer window.
The Argentine winger who was a former wonderkid during his early years in football has matured at Sevilla this season and has been a revelation in La Liga.
Ocampos’ trickery and pace has been a joy to behold and there are certainly flashes of Cristiano Ronaldo in his style.
The pace and the skills are especially reminiscent of Ronaldo, however Lucas Ocampos’ shooting technique is also similar to the Portuguese with the Sevilla winger having scored some thunderous long-range goals this season.
Lucas Ocampos could be well suited to both Man United and Real Madrid. Of course he will not be a direct replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo. Players like the current Juventus star only come around once a generation, however, Lucas Ocampos could become the man to finally erase some of the lingering shadows which the Portuguese has left behind at both of his former clubs.
The Red Devils faithful will be hoping Lucas Ocampos will opt for Manchester rather than sunny Madrid when making his decision about the future.
