According to the latest reports, Manchester United chief Ed Woodward could be about to receive a huge transfer window boost.
In Stretford, on the outskirts of Manchester, Old Trafford stands eerily empty. For over two months now, the giant pantheon, the Theatre of Dreams, where so many battles had been fought has remained shut, devoid of human presence. Manchester United no longer grace the field, the football doesn’t roll along the turf and the chants do not echo around the ground. It is a ghost town.
Around the world, giant footballing cathedrals have faced the same plight. Amidst the new crisis, football has fallen down the wayside and the situation has thrown up some unprecedented scenarios.
For Ed Woodward whose position has been precarious at United for some time now, the current situation would have only brought him more toil. With the pressure mounting on the club to get themselves back to the pinnacle of English football, Woodward would have used the upcoming transfer window as the opportunity to supply Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with the ammunition necessary to compete with arch rivals Liverpool and Manchester City.

The funds to bring in the ammunition has however seemed to have dwindled amidst the crisis. Much uncertainty now surrounds the future of the summer transfer window which would have commenced as early as next month.
However with the football schedule pushed back, the window will be unlike any window ever before.
Ed Woodward could have however been given a major boost.
As per reports by the Daily Express, the football governing body, FIFA, are considering extending the transfer window deadline until March next year.
That would mean Ed Woodward could have plenty of time to sort the club’s finances and negotiate the deals necessary to take the Red Devils forward.
Moreover it will give the fans new-found hope about the possible arrival of Jadon Sancho for a lucrative fee from Borussia Dortmund.
Undoubtedly, Ed Woodward will already be planning his moves and how to best conduct deals amidst the current crisis. With a shaky track record, it is about time the Red Devils chief puts things right at Old Trafford.
