Manchester United: Ed Woodward speaking to a Mino Raiola client again
By Bence Bocsak
According to the latest report, Manchester United chief Ed Woodward could be about to negotiation with another Mino Raiola client.
Mino Raiola’s name is infamous in football. The super-agent is renowned for his cajoling words and tough negotiations. Over the years, the Italian has developed a tumultuous relationship with Manchester United.
The Red Devils have often suffered as a consequence of Mino Raiola’s actions. Even as recently as last December, it was purported that the reason United pulled out of the deal to sign Erling Braut Haland was because of Raiola’s demands.
Meanwhile, Raiola’s is also thought to be one of the major influences in Paul Pogba desire to leave Old Trafford in the near future.

For those reasons, and many others, Raiola’s name is not thought of very fondly in the red side of Manchester.
Nonetheless, it seems the Red Devils chief, Ed Woodward is about to negotiate with the infamous super-agent once more. According to the Daily Star via the Daily Express, United are ‘looking to sign Roma teenager Riccardo Calafiori.’
The 18 year old is a left back and is another one of Mino Raiola’s clients and the report claims Woodward has already ‘contacted’ Mino Raiola ahead of negotiations.
Riccardo Calafiori is yet to make his senior debut for Roma, but he has been a revelation in the Italian outfit’s second string side.
Playing predominantly at left-back, Riccardo Calafiori has managed an impressive 5 goals and 2 assists in just 16 appearances this season.
Considering the fact that Calafiori only just turned 18 in May, the youngster could be a valuable addition at Old Trafford for the future.
Of course no doubt, negotiations with Mino Raiola could turn strenuous and the saga could potentially stretch on for a while.
But if Riccardo Calafiori does sign for United, he will follow suit of fellow compatriots such as Matteo Darmian, Federico Macheda and Giuseppe Rossi to have represented the Red Devils.
The above mentioned trio all arrived at Old Trafford as youngsters but ultimately failed to make a lasting impression in the first team.
Riccardo Calafiori will be hoping to be able to surpass their achievements. With the Red Devils stocked up in the left back position, especially since the emergence of Brandon Williams, the young Italian will have a tough task ahead of him though.
Do you think Riccardo Calafiori would be a good signing?
