According to the latest reports Manchester United are convinced they are leading the charge for an exciting young midfielder.

In football, no matter from what obscure corner of the world a wonderkid emerges from, fans flock to worship his potential and the media is littered with the second coming of the ‘next (insert name here).’ Fans have an insane obsession with the next big thing. For 17 year old Eduardo Camavinga, the hype has been tremendous ever since he emerged as a young talent earlier this year. The young star has been compared to the likes of Paul Pogba and it is no surprise Manchester United are thought to be interested in the Rennes midfielder.

According to a report by the Metro via the Daily Express the Red Devils ‘believe they are leading Real Madrid in the transfer hunt’ for Eduardo Camavinga’s services.

The report will be one that will make Man Utd fans gleam.

Eduardo Camavinga has received a plethora of hype since his emergence in France this season and the young star looks to have a prosperous career ahead of him. With Solskjaer desperate to reinforce and bolster his midfield options, Camavinga could be an ideal candidate. The 17 year old could be a mainstay in the United team for decades to come and that is exactly what the Norwegian is looking for.

Solskjaer is desperate to build a team for the long term and a dynasty at Old Trafford.

Camavinga’s arrival could be especially useful if Paul Pogba does indeed depart the club as it has been rumoured for some time. The 17 year old has been compared to the current United midfielder and there are definitely shades of Pogba in the Rennes star’s style of play. Even at such a young age, Eduardo Camavinga has the ability to dictate games from midfield, evidenced by a stellar performance against Paris Saint Germain earlier this season.

However, with United also purportedly interested in the likes of Jude Bellingham and Jadon Sancho as well as Jack Grealish, it might be one the Red Devils will not be able to afford this summer, considering the current financial climate.
