According to a newly emerged report, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has to make several tough decisions ahead of the summer.

Since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was hired as the replacement for Jose Mourinho in December 2018, Manchester United has seen the Norwegian making firm and ruthless decisions while making transfers or offloading players from the squad.

The likes of Chris Smalling, Romelu Lukaku, Marouane Fellaini, Matteo Darmian, Alexis Sanchez, and Ashley Young – who either were the favourites of club’s former manager or were the wrong buys – were shown the exit door of Old Trafford under the management of Solskjaer.

The case of Ander Herrera was an unusual scenario, though. The club’s reluctance to offer the Spaniard a renewal saw the departure of one of their most loyal servants last summer.

That being said, if you are one of them who put the blame directly on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for Herrera’s departure, you might have to think again. It was Herrera’s poor injury record that saw him miss a tally of nine matches for United during the 2018-19 season.

Furthermore, since making a free move to PSG in the last summer transfer window, Ander Herrera has spent most of his time on the sideline, owing to the four different injuries (Thigh, hamstring, foot, and calf).

Hence, it can be said that Solskjaer has got most of his decisions right while building a team for the future. And, with several improvements already being made both on and off the field, it seems as if the club has finally found a perfect replacement for Sir Alex Ferguson.

According to a report from Manchester Evening News, United manger has some serious decision to make ahead of the summer window.

It is understood that the Red side of Manchester might witness five departures this summer, with the name of Paul Pogba leading the queue. Moreover, the likes of Marcos Rojo, Phil Jones, Jesse Lingard, and Andreas Pereira are also open to being sold in the summer.

Each of the aforementioned names has massively underperformed of late and is worthy of getting offloaded. Though, the majority of fans believe that the French World Cup winner should get the last chance to prove himself at his childhood club.

However, this time fans are more excited to see what the pair of Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes, who arrived at United from Sporting CP last January, could to threaten their opponents together.

There is no shortage of suitors for Pogba’s services in the current market, with the European heavyweights like Real Madrid and Juventus showing immense interest in luring the midfield maestro.

Despite all the talks circulating the future of Paul Pogba, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is believed to be relaxed as the current crisis has made Pogba’s suitors thik about their loss causing by the suspension of football.

As a result, the Pogba deal seems very unlikely to go through in the upcoming summer, and the Norweigan could breathe a sigh of relief for now.

Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo – two out-of-favour defenders at ‘Theater of Dreams’ – are most likely to be sold in the summer. And with Jesse Lingard and Andreas Pereira not showing any signs of improvements, the 2019-20 season might be their last at the Red side of Manchester.  Solskjaer has a tough job to do this summer.
