According to the latest reports, Manchester United have an incredible list totalling seven forwards in their summer transfer wish-list.

Odion Ighalo’s brief and fleeting spell at Manchester United looks to have come to an abrupt end with the Nigerian set to depart Old Trafford upon the expiry of his loan-contract.

The Nigerian’s farewell, will leave Ole Gunnar Solskjaer scratching his head.

The Norwegian manager will be without a proper out and out forward at Old Trafford in Ighalo’s absence. Once again, Solskjaer will have to look back on the summer, and rue allowing Romelu Lukaku depart for Inter Milan. There will be flashes inside his head of coming a hair-breadth away from luring Erling Braut Haland to the club in January.

These haunting memories will consume Solskjaer when he is about to embark on the summer transfer window.

The Norwegian will need to find an adequate forward to sign in order to fill the void at Old Trafford. While Anthony Martial has filled in well in the number nine role, and the prodigious talent of Mason Greenwood is an enticing one, Solskjaer cannot afford to solely rely on the pair of them.

He needs to bolster his attacking options and it seems according to Foot Mercato via the Daily Express, the Norwegian has lined up an impressive list of potential candidates for the forward role which includes a total of seven names.

The most alluring one of them will be Timo Werner. The German forward has been hugely impressive in the Bundesliga this season and has already netted 30 goals for RB Leipzig. His pace and venomous shot looks tailor made for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s explosive style of play.

The other candidates United are also exploring are Lyon forward Moussa Dembele who has played for the likes of Celtic and Fulham, as well as Monaco striker Wissam Ben Yedder and Lille froward Victor Osimhen.

The French based duo are also joined by Lautaro Martinez of Inter Milan, Raul Jimenez of Wolverhampton and Alassana Plea of Borussia Mochengladbach.

Perhaps out of the list, the one striker who would suit the Red Devils the most, other than Timo Werner, would be Victor Osimhen with the lanky forward having already impressed against Premier League opposition in the Champions League this season.

The likes of Raul Jimenez and Wissam Ben Yedder look more unlikely due to their age. Meanwhile, Plea, Dembele and Martinez would all be sufficient additions.
