According to the recently emerged reports, Manchester United have set their eyes on two Juventus players ahead of the summer.

Despite losing a huge sum of money owing to the current crisis surrounding the globe, Manchester United are expected to make some big signings in the upcoming summer transfer window, with the names of Jadon Sancho and Jack Grealish hovering in the air.

There has never been more pressure on the Red Devils to retain their former hegemony in England. And only signing players of the right calibre could give them the success the fans have always demanded from the club since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson.

To resurrect their former glory and return to the pinnacle of not only English but European football, the Red Devils must be competitive in the transfer market.

And the philosophy of making a team filled with some home-grown youngsters and some experienced superstars might help United’s former striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to knock the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool ‘right off their f*****g perch’, just like the Norwegian’s mentor Sir Alex Ferguson had done following his arrival in the late 1980s.

Thanks to United’s reputed academy, Solskjaer has got one of the most fascinating batches of academy graduates under his belt, If not the most fascinating batch.

What is needed next is some exciting and experienced summer signings to add some freshness in United’s dressing room and fill those voids left vacant by some recent departures.

According to the Italian outlet Tuttosport, Manchester United have made inquiries for two Juventus superstars, namely Douglas Costa and Merih Demiral. Both Costa and Demiral are touted as two of best players Juventus currently have in their roster.

Despite showcasing promising performances at the initial stage at Turin after making his switch from Bayern Munich in 2017, injuries and unwonted controversies have cut Douglas Costa’s development short in northern Italy.

On the other hand, regarded as one of the best centre-backs in Serie A, Merih Demiral has spent most of the time in the 2019-20 season, seating on the substitution bench.

While the former has made only 14 appearances for the Old Lady this season in Serie A, the latter has 5 league starts to his name in the current campaign.

Since taking the job at Old Trafford, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have always been strict with players’ personality while acquiring services.

While Merih Demiral could be an option to think about for Ole Gunnar Solskajer as the Norwegian is in the hunt for a centre-back, it is very unlikely that the 47-year-old manager would be keen on luring a controversial figure like Douglas Costa this summer.

Don’t you think Manchester United should sign Merih Demiral only?
