The ‘next Haaland’ could solve Manchester United’s forward problems

Manchester United should look to solve their forward crisis in the summer with this exciting Red Bull Salzburg star dubbed the next Erling Haland.

In January, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer must have scratched his head and sighed with frustration. Manchester United had come a hair breadth away from bringing Erling Braut Haland to the club. Ultimately however, the teenage sensation would pen a contract with Borussia Dortmund instead thanks to the influence of Mino Railo.

The betrayal would have stung Solskjaer that little bit more considering he was the coach who gave Haland his professional debut during the pair’s time at Molde.

However, the United coach has now had to put the past behind him.

Missing out on Haland has meant that a void still needs filling in the Red Devils’ squad. Odion Ighalo on loan has just been a temporary solution. In the summer Solskjaer will look to find a permanent fix to alleviate his problems at Old Trafford.

The Norwegian coach should look no further than Erling Braut Haland’s old club, Red Bull Salzburg. The Austrian side have churned out an impressive repertoire of talent in recent years, such as the aforementioned Haland as well as Sadio Mane, Naby Keita and Dayot Upamecano.

And in the absence of Haland a new star has emerged onto the scene at Salzburg. The Zambian forward Patson Daka has been in terrific form this season. The 21 year old has found the back of the net 20 times already this season in 34 games and has impressed in outings against the likes of Liverpool and Napoli.

Patson Daka has all the attributes to emulate the aforementioned names who established themselves at Salzburg.

The Zambian striker is pacy with a venomous shot and the ability to pull of some acrobatic efforts. Patson Daka has the knack for being in the right place at the right time. He is a real poacher.

Those traits are exactly what Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs and it is what attracted the Red Devils to Erling Braut Haland in the first place.

Patson Daka could be the perfect alternative to Haland in the summer. He has all the characteristics to be a great and he could blossom into a true gem at Old Trafford.
