Manchester United have reportedly shown interest in making a move for a Borussia Monchengladbach striker ahead of the summer transfer window.

Amidst the current crisis, football clubs are on the verge of losing a hefty amount of money. As a result, it is expected that the upcoming summer transfer window might witness the quietest one in its recent history.

However, Manchester United are desperate to carry out their plans of rejuvenating the squad, with a few new acquisitions expected to arrive at Old Trafford this summer.

Despite having understood the impact of coronavirus pandemic on European football, United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes that the club has got enough resources to make some preferable deals in the upcoming market.

Hence, the Red Devils are still optimistic about the club’s future at the summer transfer market and have reportedly made the likes of Jadon Sancho, Jack Grealish, and Jude Bellingham their top targets for the upcoming window.

According to the reports from The Standard, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer is interested in securing a move for Borrusia Monchengladbach striker Alassane Plea and has already contracted with his representatives for a summer move.

The 27-year-old French forward has received a massive amount of praise over the years for his charismatic performances in German soil.

Since making a move to Bundesliga from Ligue 1 side OGC Nice for a reported fee of £20 million in 2018, the former Lyon striker has amassed 44 goals and 23 assists from 135 appearances across all competitions.

In the 2019-20 campaign, Plea has made 23 Bundesliga starts, scoring 9 goals and providing 7 assists thus far. The return of Bundesliga saw the striker score a stunner in their 3-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt last Saturday.

In addition, Plea is known for his trickery in front of the thickest of the defenders, lethal pace, and audacious nature of taking on a player while counter-attacking. He is more like a versatile forward, who can operate both wings, than ‘a static no. 9’.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would love to have him in his roster.
