According to the latest reports, Ryan Giggs is excited about the potential of this Manchester United target who is lined up as a Jadon Sancho alternative.

World-class wingers and Manchester United were at one point synonymous with one another. From Ryan Giggs to David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo, the Red Devils always had a dashing, tricky wide-man running down the flanks at Old Trafford.

They would make the Stretford End gleam and left opposition defences trailing in their wake gazing at the streaks and shadows they left behind.

However since Sir Alex Ferguson left his role as manager of the club, the flanks have become barren at Old Trafford.

For over a decade, the Red Devils have been devoid of world-class wingers.

Players have come and failed to fill the void. From Angel Di Maria to Alexis Sanchez. Most have left a bitter taste in the United fans’ mouths.

However this summer that could change.

Purportedly, United and Ed Woodward have embarked on a relentless pursuit to secure the services of Jadon Sancho.

Sancho who has 90 senior games under his belt at Dortmund and 31 goals and 42 assists, is certainly in the same ilk as the aforementioned United legends.

Though one mighty obstacle will stand in the way of the Red Devils’ desires.

Dortmund will be demanding a steep asking price for the services of the 20 year old Englishman and that could deter the staunchly resilient and stubborn Ed Woodward.

It seems the Red Devils are already lining-up alternatives in case they miss out on their number on target.

According to Manchester Evenings News via the Daily Express, United have lined-up Schalke winger Rabbi Matondo as a potentially cheaper alternative to Jadon Sancho.

Rabbi Matondo is a 19 year old Welsh winger who has played 12 Bundesliga games this season and has scored a single goal. He has been on the periphery of the Schalke first team squad and yet to make a proper breakthrough.

However, the Daily Express reports that Ryan Giggs is a huge admirer of Rabbi Matondo and praised him for his ‘electrifying pace’ as well as comparing him to current United star Daniel James.

Rabbi Matondo will not be the flashy marquee signing the Red Devils would have wanted but in the current climate amidst a potential financial crisis, he could be an astute addition.
