Manchester United have already started preparing their shopping list ahead of the summer transfer window and their new signing holds an impressive record.

As per the reports surrounding Manchester United, besides focusing on adding new faces to the senior team, the club has an eye on improving the academy with a few young acquisitions expected in the summer transfer window.

Since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has arrived at Old Trafford, several youth prospects from United’s academy have got chance to represent the Red Devils in the first team.

The likes of Mason Greenwood, Tahith Chong, Angel Gomes, James Garner, and Brandon Williams are the most notable names amongst those United graduates who have been impressive since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over.

Speaking on an interview, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed that he wants to build a team based on the philosophy of United’s legend Sir Matt Bubsy. He confirmed:

"“As Sir Matt [Busby] once said, if they’re good enough, they’re old enough. We are built on that tradition.“We need young players coming through. It’s important for the Academy and the players in the Academy to know that, yes, I am looking to progress players through.“It comes to playing style and how we want to look in one, two years’ time. It’s about finding players with the Man United identity and DNA."

Over the years, United have produced some great talents from their youth set-up. And it is expected that they would do more in the upcoming years as the likes of Hannibal Mejbri and Dillion Hoogerwerf are on the cusp of making it to the first team.

However, to keep a firm grip on the status of one of the best youth academies in Europe, United need even more names likes the ones mentioned above.

According to Daily Star, Manchester United have already agreed on a deal with Barcelona for their 16-year-old prospect Marc Jurado. Jurado is not only a right-back but also a graduate from Barcelona’s reputed La Masia academy.

The thing that makes him a special asset is his impressive record for Barcelona’s junior side. While playing for Barcelona’s U10s side in 2010, Jurado scored a stunner with only five seconds into the game and became the fastest goalscorer at Barcelona’s youth level.

He could be a good addition to Manchester United’s youth academy. With Diogo Dalot expected to make a move away from Old Trafford and Ethan Laird moving closer to getting the promotion to United’s senior squad, Jurado could be a perfect replacement for Laird in United’s youth set-up.

Meanwhile, fans should not be worried about United’s right-back position as Aaron Wan-Bissaka has already made that spot his own.
