According to the latest reports, Manchester United could be edging closer to landing Jack Grealish as the midfielder held a private chat with Solskjaer.

You’d struggle to find better attacking midfielders in the Premier League right now than the current Manchester United target, Jack Grealish. The Aston Villa midfielder has stunned pundits with his mature and elegant displays throughout the course of this season.

Grealish has been the main reason why Villa are still hanging onto hopes of staying up and avoiding another relegation into the Championship. He has often led the team singlehandedly.

Blessed with great technique and twinkle toes, Grealish can weave past defenders with ease and he has the ability to find the back of the net from outrageous angles.

More from Red Devil Armada

United witnessed Grealish’s class first hand when Aston Villa visited Old Trafford earlier on in the year. Jack Grealish scored a stunning goal in the match and was a perpetual nuisance to the Red Devils’ defence.

It is no wonder Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate to land the Englishman’s services with the club currently lacking in depth in the attacking midfielder role. Grealish would be the perfect candidate to fill the void.

And according to a report by the Manchester Evening News via the Daily Star, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer pulled Grealish aside following his performance at Old Trafford and held a ‘private conversation’ with the Aston Villa captain.

One can only wonder what was discussed between the pair of them but you would have to assume it was not a conversation about the weather.

Jack Grealish is undoubtedly United quality and he could form an excellent partnership with the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Scott McTominay in a midfield three at Old Trafford. He could be an especially adequate replacement if Paul Pogba indeed departed the club this summer.

Of course, there are some concerns about Jack Grealish’s maturity with the midfielder having been involved in some controversies in the past.

However, those controversies take nothing away from his quality. The fact of the matter is that Jack Grealish will be snapped up by one of the ‘big six’ eventually and if it is not United, the Red Devils may rue their mistake.

This summer if Aston Villa are relegated, United might be able to land him on the cheap too.
