Rival team close to securing a deal for ‘best’ Manchester United starlet

According to reports, Chelsea are moving closer to securing the services for Manchester United starlet ahead of the summer transfer window.

Amidst the current crisis worldwide with footballing having ceased globally, the talks of possible transfers and rumours have made life easier for the football devotees around the world. Media outlets have been doing their best to cover stories relating to a potential summer transfers. As expected Manchester United with its global status have been at the heart of much of the speculation.

With Premier League football set to make its return in early June, fans could be hopeful to see their favourites in action sooner than what was initially expected.

In the meantime, some clubs are believed to be in massive dilemma as some of their players’ contracts are going to expire by the end of June and July. However, the most frustrating thing on this matter is that Premier League authorities have not managed to make firm decision yet.

Manchester United could be one of those ill-fated club who are edging towards losing some of their squad players.

Since getting the United managerial job, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has always shown his faith to academy players. As a consequence, the emergence of Mason Greenwood, Tahith Chong, Brandon Williams, Angel Gomes and James Garner have found some crucial minutes under their belt as the first team footballers.

While Tahith Chong, despite showing signs of leaving United, eventually committed his future by signing a contract renewal, which will keep him at the club until 2022, with the option to extend for a further year last May, there are clouds of uncertainty over the future of Angel Gomes as he has not reportedly penned any renewal yet.

Reliable Manchester United correspondent for GOAL, Charlotte Duncker, however,  believes United are desperate to keep the youngster at Old Trafford and have already handed the 20-year-old an contract extension. Though, as per the same report, the talks of renewing the contract is currently ‘at a stalemate’ owning to the current crisis.

Should Gomes refuse to sign the agreement, Manchester United supporters could see one of their favourite youngsters leave at the end of June for free. Gomes made his debut as just a 16 year old in 2017 and he has been regarded as one of the club’s best youth products ever since.

And the most disheartening thing on the matter is that Gomes’ departure from “The Theater of Dreams” could see him join United’s London rivals Chelsea, reports from Mirror suggests.

Besides Chelsea, the heavyweights like Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona are expected to be monitoring the situation.
