The pair who are expected to be Manchester United’s first signings of the summer window have given a huge hint to confirm they will join the club.

When Alan Hansen infamously declared on Match of the Day that you cannot ‘win anything with kids,’ his fellow Scotsman, Sir Alex Ferguson, proved him duly wrong. Ferguson’s philosophy at Manchester United has always been staunchly focused on the promotion of youth.

The Scotsman developed and built the foundations for one of the most successful academies in world football.

In England, Man United are undoubtedly the best academy. The Red Devils’ ability to churn out academy talent, capable of playing in the first team is unparalleled in the country. Many of the club’s youth players also go onto to represent other Premier League sides.

The pillars of Ferguson’s great teams at Old Trafford were always the academy talents the Scotsman brought through. Ferguson had a staunch and ardent belief in the club’s product. Without the Scotsman the club may have never brought through the likes of Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and David Beckhmam.

In addition, Ferguson also liked to recruit young players and hone their craft. The Scotsman was the master of the art.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is trying to replicate many of Ferguson’s activities at United.

The Norwegian has placed his faith in youth and has bedded the likes of Brandon Williams and Mason Greenwood into the first team squad as well as giving increased opportunities to Scott McTominay and managing to get the best out of Marcus Rashford.

Just like Ferguson, Solskjaer has built the foundations of his team on young talents from the academy. The next step now for the Norwegian is to recruit young players from other clubs. Like Ferguson had done with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney.

Marc Jurado and Joe Hugill both look poised to move to United and they could potentially be the club’s next Ronaldo and Rooney.

According to a report by the Evening Standard, Jurado and Hugill have given a huge hint to confirm they will join United in the summer by following one another on Instagram.

The move is surely all but wrapped up by the signs of things.

Of course with the pair of them both just 16 years of age, it will be some time until they feature in the first team.

Next. The Red Devils have been handed a new date as to when they can return to action. dark
