Manchester United could look to sign cheap Jose Mourinho target

According to the latest reports, Manchester United could be set to sign this Jose Mourinho target ahead of the summer transfer window.
A year ago and a half ago the current situation in football would have been unprecedented. As a Manchester United fan the idea of the football season being potentially void would have seemed unfeasible. But alas, it is the reality we all have to deal with.
Perhaps what would have been even harder to fathom is Jose Mourinho managing Tottenham.
The Portuguese manager had been on the ropes at United a year and a half ago, however there was still a consensus of hope that he would be able to turn things around.
After all, Jose Mourinho was the ‘special one.’ The one who would herald a new dynasty at Old Trafford, finally on par with Sir Alex Ferguson.

Ultimately, a torrid performance against Liverpool cost Mourinho his job and notions about a dynasty vanished into oblivion.
Jose Mourinho is a shadow of the man he once was. His rigid defensive style looks defunct in modern football and his successes in the past five years have been nothing compared to the hoard of trophies he won during his initial burst into world football.
His time at Man United will always be remembered as one of failure and turbulence. From dressing room unrest to banal football, the Portuguese did not get anything right.
His successor Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seem to be mending some of Mourinho’s mistakes.
The Norwegian has deployed a more expansive style of football, concentrated on attacking and pace.
It has been a welcome change, and sometimes Man United have been reminiscent of the golden teams of old from Ferguson’s reign.
But much still needs to be addressed.
One of the most pivotal areas, Solskjaer needs to fix is the lack of depth on the wings.
And it seems the Norwegian could turn to an old Jose Mourinho target in order to do exactly just that.
According to a report by the Daily Express, with Juventus interested in Paul Pogba and amidst the current financial crisis, the Red Devils could look to include Douglas Costa in a potential deal with the Turin based side.
Douglas Costa has been heavily linked with a move to United several times over the years. His pace and direct style could be a great asset at Old Trafford.
