Former Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera revealed two superstars who could help the Red Devils restore their domination in England.
The year was 2014 when Manchester United saw one of its most loyal servants’ arrival at the club. After being rejected by Atletico Bilbao on two occasions, Manchester United found no way but to trigger Herrera’s €36million release clause that made the midfielder join the red side of Manchester and pen a 4-year contract with the 20-times English champions.
Even though Herrera doesn’t play for the Red Devils anymore, United fans still love and appreciate the Spaniard for what he did for the club when he was at Old Trafford.

During his 5-year stay at the club, Ander Herrera made 189 appearances across all competitions, finding the net for 20 times and helping teammates to find the net for 27 times.
Despite showcasing high spirit while running the midfield for Manchester United for years, Ander Herrera became the witness of his surprising departure from the ‘Theatre of Dreams’.
A free summer transfer in 2019 saw PSG secure Herrera’s services after Manchester United had decided that they would not offer a contract renewal to the Spanish international.
However, speaking on an interview with ESPN FC, Ander Herrera confirmed,
"“When I look back a year ago, my intention was not to leave Manchester United. I had some different opinions with the board but I respect them. I respect them a lot. They do things for Manchester United and I disagree with the people who say they don’t.”"
Furthermore, he named two prodigies who could lead Man United to their next Premier League title,
"“I think they have signed some players who can bring the club back into the Premier League title race.“Marcus [Rashford] is one of them. He has the quality and the maturity to make this step. It’s still a way to fight for the title because Liverpool and Man City are really strong.“But I think they are on the way and have signed some players who can give a lot for the club.“With Bruno Fernandes, a player I really like, and other players who are adaptable to the league, I think United can do great things. But the other teams are also doing great things like Liverpool, [Manchester] City and Tottenham.”"
Marcus Rashford has already shown the glimpses of being a lethal forward, with the speedster having recorded 19 goals and 5 assists from 31 appearances in all competitions. The 22-year-old frontman could have scored more goals had not a serious back injury came to halt his progress.
Even though the respective injury has already made Rashford miss nine games this season, it is expected that he would be fit when football returns to English soil following the banishment of coronavirus pandemic.
On the other hand, Bruno Fernandes, since joining Manchester United in the winter transfer window, has drastically changed the dynamic of the team. After playing only nine matches under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the Portuguese has added 3 goals and provided 5 assists to his name.
While Rashford and Fernandes have shown that they could guide United to their utmost success, Solskjaer needs to make more acquisitions like Fernandes and Rashford to close that gap between the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool.
Do you think Rashford and Fernandes could be the next big things in European football?
