According to the reports, Manchester United‘s dream to make a move for this English asset could face a massive setback amid the current crisis in football.

Since Ole Gunnar Solskjær has become the manager of Manchester United, fans have witnessed both bad and good times. Though, unfortunately the part of bad results have largely dominated the reign of Ole Gunnar Solskjær thus far.

Some may find it awkward, but there was a time when the majority of United fanbase desperately wanted Norwegian to be fired.

You remember the game, right? The 2-0 home defeat to Burnley saw the players being booed off the pitch after an abysmal performance, and Solskjaer came under major scrutiny. He was teetering on the precipice of an imminent departure from Old Trafford.

But as the common adage goes, ‘Fortune favours the brave’. In this case, fortune came to save Solskjær’s job as the former Manchester United striker went on to make two desperately-needed acquisitions in the form of Bruno Fernandes and Odion Ighalo.

Since Fernandes’s arrival at United, the Red Devils’ way of playing football has become more direct, swift, and lethal. The additional creativity that Bruno Fernandes has added to an injury-ravaged side has helped them score a plethora of goals lately.

Nonetheless, if we omit the attacking midfielders from the side, the Red Devils currently have four maestros who can predominantly pull the strings on the pitch – Nemanja Matic, Scott McTominay, Fred, and Paul Pogba.

With Pogba seemingly getting closer to a summer exit and Matic losing his mobility due to ageing, United need to rejuvenate their midfield as soon as possible.

As Solskjær’s management is more interested in acquiring youth prospects rather than picking up ready-made superstars, one player who would be perfect for Solskjær’s side is Jude Bellingham, a 16-year-old prodigy from Birmingham City.

The English teenager has been linked with a summer move to Manchester United for a while. Besides Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea, and many Europaan heavyweights have shown immense interest in the upcoming superstar.

However, a recent report from BirminghamLive suggests that the Mancunian club could miss out on the star-in-the-making due to financial disaster the football world will witness as the consequence of the current crisis.

Speaking about the crisis and its impact on football, United’s executive vice-chairman, Ed Woodward said,

"“Nobody should be under any illusions about the scale of challenge facing everyone in football and it may not be ‘business as usual’ for any clubs, including ourselves, in the transfer market this summer.”"

Jude Bellingham, a regular starter for Birmingham at the age of 16, has already played 35 matches this season across all competitions, having added 4 goals and 2 assists to his name.

While we don’t know what future holds for the English starlet, making a move to Manchester United looks very unlikely for Jude Bellingham in the upcoming summer transfer window.
